Our company is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our team. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional services and maintaining a positive work environment. As a Billing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of claims, payments, and reports. Your expertise will contribute to the overall success of our organization.
Responsibilities
- Review and correct claims rejected for errors before submitting to the payer for reimbursement
- Receive EOBs, research causes for denials, and resubmit corrected claims
- Process all remittances (manual and electronic pay) and post to appropriate accounts
- Contact insurance companies regarding delinquent accounts
- Assist with generating daily, weekly, and monthly reports
- Stay informed of changes to systems from funding sources, Medicaid, and/or the State, and communicate the changes to proper departments
- Handle confidential information and abide by HIPAA laws and other medical policies
- Achieve maximum reimbursement for services provided
- Perform additional tasks related to billing as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma required, higher education preferred
- Minimum of 2 years billing experience preferred
- Ability to learn quickly
- Extreme attention to detail
- Ability to be productive without constant oversight
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Basic understanding of office software and machinery
